About Mission City Soccer Complex
Mission City Soccer Complex (MCSC) stands as one of the most important athletic and community spaces in South Texas. Located on the Southside of San Antonio, the 40-acre facility was created to provide high-quality soccer infrastructure for an area historically underserved in youth sports investment.
The complex was funded through the Bexar County Venue Tax Program, part of a voter-approved 2008 bond initiative that allocated $415 million toward community projects, including $80 million dedicated specifically to youth sports facilities. MCSC became the 13th and final venue completed under that program and officially opened on November 15, 2013.
From its inception, the complex was intended to serve a broader regional purpose. Beyond local league play, MCSC was designed to function as a neutral, centralized location for STYSA sanctioned matches and U.S. Youth Soccer tournaments. Its geographic position in South San Antonio places it strategically between urban and rural communities, allowing it to serve teams from across South Texas and Northern Mexico.
The facility was developed and is operated by Mission City Youth Soccer Organization (MCYSO), which was entrusted by Bexar County to manage and steward the site. MCYSO’s mission extends beyond organizing games. The organization focuses on physical development, education, discipline, and sportsmanship while creating structured opportunities for youth to compete at higher levels.
